300-IM Has Gone Wireless

Doortek Service

Mar 09

The new 300-IM line is now able to be connected via Wi-Fi. The Ehternet daughter board is now available either wired (RJ45) or wireless. Same great security with the added Wi-Fi security built in. Can't pull wires or just don't want to trench across lawns, concrete, or asphalt? This may be your answer. Contact DoorTek for more info.

ManTrap Interlock

Doortek Service

Feb 20

DoorTek has designed a ManTrap Interlock Hardware system that preserves anti-pass-back. The system places a very nice Interlock Request plate on either side of the ManTrap. The request plate has a Interlock Request Button, a red led that indicates the locked-out status, and a green led that indicates Interlock Request Granted. A cardholder, upon approaching the door, can tell if the door is blocked by the red led. If the door is not blocked, the cardholder presses the Interlock Request button. Upon acceptance of the request the green led will be lit. The cardholder then presents the card to the reader. When the green led is lit  the reader is active and the opposite side is totally blocked. Only once the door is closed and locked will the other side become available for activation.

200 Series Service Note

Doortek Service

Feb 19

Interesting service issues of recent with the same resolution. We have assisted with three service calls, in the past few months, that had dip switch setting issues. Elementary right! Well not so. All the dip switches were actually set correctly, BUT after intense trouble shooting and in-depth studying, it was found that one of the dip switch positions Was Not all the way to the right. It appears that the on state of the dip switches is not 90% to the right, but 100% to the right. Now here is the clincher! The panel had been working properly for years. Seems that the switch was riding just barely in the on state and tipped to the off position. In studying the positions, the switch of issue was visibly not in the full to-the-right position. In learning from this experience, it's a good idea to cycle your "on" dip switches off then back on (100% on). I would imagine this to stand true with any panel you may be working with. Just passing it on.

Xetron XE-1 Cards

Doortek Service

Feb 13

Can DoorTek supply add-on card orders for the old Xetron XE-1 wiegand swip card type? Yes we can. They are still being made but are going up in price. They will likely be phased out at some point, but are still available now. Wiegand style readers can be replaced with proximity readers with identical output type. What does this mean? It means you can up grade the human interface, the readers and cards, without replacing your electronics. Call us for more information.
